OUR SEASON

the ORANGEBURG YMCA SWIM TEAM consists of a variety of people, ranging in age from 6 to 17. we compete in about 5 meets every summer at home and in other counties. and i must admit,we do pretty well! however,we are a fairly small team and are very interested in recruiting new members. so, if you live in orangeburg and love to swim, or are at least interested, come by the pool and see what we're all about!

the orangeburg swim team's season begins in june and ends in august. we have a swim meet about every weekend, but, occasionally, we get a break!=0

MY FEELINGS ON THE SWIM TEAM

our swim team is about doing your best, trying hard, aiming high, and all the other inspirational,fun stuff!=) i personally enjoy working with my coaches because, even though they think a 500 of freestyle is "a nice, relaxing workout, (why, i don't know), they really treat everyone equally and fairly. i am also glad that geoff and chris stepped in after our former coach's resignation last year. (THANX GUYS)
for me, personally, the swim team has provided me with many valuable friendships, a way to exercise and have fun, and it has definitely showed me a little about self-discipline (getting up at 6:30 a.m.,etc.) i just hope that many more people will find the swim team as fun and worthwhile as i have.
